Yvoire in Haute-Savoie
Close to Switzerland, Yvoire is an old fishing village located 20 km from Thonon les Bains (Haute-Savoie) and Geneva, and 25 km from Annemasse (Haute-Savoie). A medieval village on the shores of Lake Geneva, Yvoire celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2006 and is a member of the Plus Beaux Villages de France (Most Beautiful Villages in France) Association, as well as Villages Fleuris (villages in bloom) (with a score of 4 fleurs).
Extremely well served by Lake Geneva General Navigation Company boats, this little village harbours marvellous vestiges of its medieval era: a remarkable castle open to visitors, complete with gates and ramparts...
From the restaurant, you can admire the inspirational Jardin des Cinq Sens (Garden of 5 senses), which will transport you to the poetic universe of the labyrinths of the Middle Ages.
